MFA COMPETENCE CENTRE

As a result of the Globalisation Analysis, a common Competence Centre within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is established on 1 January 2008.

The Centre currently develops and offers competence development activities to all staff – posted and home-based – and to advisers employed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in connection with Danish development assistance.

The Centre delivers training activities both in cooperation with experts from the MFA, highly skilled teachers and consultants.

The Centre offers competence development within the following areas, among others:

Export and Investment Promotion
Public Diplomacy
Development Cooperation
Foreign and Security Policy
Language and Cultural Awareness
Communication and Rhetorics
Negotiation
Leadership and Personal Development
Postings and Repatriation
MFA basic training programmes
Finance and Personnel Policy
Personal Security
Crosscutting Issues

The Centre will continue to offer the following language services on a commercial basis to external clients as well as MFA staff:

Language courses
Translation
Language test

Services of the Competence Centre in other areas will gradually be offered to external clients.
