5.330.000 people live in Denmark. The total area is just 43.000 square kilometres. This means that we have around 120 inhabitants per square kilometre. Compared to the USA, Denmark is densely populated, because there are only 29 Americans per square kilometre. But compared to Holland, Denmark isn't bad, because in Holland they have 385 people per square kilometre.
Most Danes live in the cities.
Approximately 1.1 million people live in our capital, Copenhagen, if the you count suburbs. The second largest city is Århus. 229.000 (2004) people live there.
Only about one million Danes live in the actual countryside, and many of these drive to the cities to work every day, if they're not farmers. There are 57.831 farms in Denmark, and of these 3099 are entirely organic.
